A bodywork sheet metal worker is the contact person for the repair and maintenance of vehicle bodies. The most important tasks of a bodywork sheet metal worker include diagnosing and repairing bodywork damage, removing dents, replacing damaged vehicle parts and restoring the original shape and function of bodywork parts, for example after an accident or parking damage.

Other key work areas include welding and soldering metals, straightening and aligning chassis, preparing surfaces for painting and carrying out corrosion protection measures.
